This fantastic range of wonderfully warm, knitted children's hats are great fun! They bring brightness and sunshine to even the darkest winter days. Each design is based on a different animal - we just love them!
This item is made in Nepal by Pachamama, an ethical company that for 15 years has been working with artisans in Nepal and Ecuador to produce truly unique knitwear. In both countries the majority of production is village based, with the knitters supplementing their incomes from farming and fitting their knitting around their own family and work commitments. Pachamama also employs a small amount of people in a factory environment to hand finish and pack the garments. All these people work in excellent conditions and receive benefits and pay above the local standards.
Pachamama have bought from the same producers since the company was founded – ensuring continuous and solid economic and social growth for a large number of skilled artisans.

This vibrant Kisii soapstone range is from a supplier in Kenya called Zuri Design. Most people in Kisii live a subsistence lifestyle, so the income from soapstone handicrafts is vital to their existence.
After the rough outline of each shape is created, the stone is placed in water and sanded until the chiseled stone is completely smooth. The stone is painted and the designs are hand etched into the stone to reveal the natural white under the paint.

One of our most popular items, this novel and innovative spectacle stand is made from sustainable shesham wood.
This item is made by Asha Handicrafts. Asha represents more than 6,500 artisans in 10 states of India. 'Asha' means 'hope' in Sanskrit. It aims to sustain the marketing ability of individual and family based artisans. It is a not-for-profit organisation which works to ensure that benefits of handicraft production reach the craftspeople themselves, by buying directly from the artisan groups and offering advance payments on orders.
Asha provides training and teaching facilities in tailoring and metal work, thereby establishing new local groups of craftsmen. It also provides educational assistance for children of the producers, medical check ups and treatment and savings programs for artisans and spouses.
