This item is supplied by a company called Namaste, which is a greeting that means literally “I salute the spirit within you” in India and Nepal. Namaste bought this item direct from a primary producer, having first designed it to suit the global market. As the artisans can’t afford to buy the raw materials, Namaste made an advance payment for materials, workers and whatever else was necessary. They paid a fair price for the product, which works out at above the national average wage, and men and women are paid the same price for their craftsmanship.
