Incredibly, these eco-friendly cards are made from elephant dung which is collected from the South Luangwa Safari Park by a man who has a blind daughter. The income he makes from selling these cards pays for his daughter’s education. He collects the elephant dung, which he cleans and sterilises by boiling before putting it in a mould to dry. From this he creates the card and envelope.

The photos are then provided by a Safari Lodge ranger. She takes photographs of the animals in the Safari Park, sticks them to the card and packages them up. They are then sold at all the local Safari Lodges. You can only get hold of these cards in the UK through our online shop!
